Thailand is initiating steps to establish a direct shipping route between its Ranong Port and Bangladesh’s Chattogram Port, aiming to streamline trade and supply chains. Thai Ambassador Thitiporn Chirasawadi stated the new route could significantly reduce transit times from approximately two weeks to just three to five days. This development signals Thailand’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Bangladesh. The initiative seeks to facilitate faster and more efficient movement of goods between the two countries. The potential benefits include reduced shipping costs and quicker delivery times for businesses. Further details were discussed during a visit to the Bangla Tribune and Dhaka Tribune offices on August 16th. This direct shipping connection is expected to promote increased bilateral trade volumes.
