Following Thailand’s 2-0 victory against the Vietnam national team on September 29th, Thai fans have taken to social media to express harsh criticism. Many supporters are expressing concern that the “War Elephants” – as the Thai national team is known – have lost their traditional playing style. A common complaint is the team’s excessively deep defensive strategy, with one fan commenting they were “unable to lift their heads.” The criticism highlights dissatisfaction with the team's approach, despite the win against Vietnam. The online backlash suggests a desire for a more proactive and recognizable brand of football from the Thailand national team. This reaction underlines the passion and high expectations surrounding the “War Elephants” within Thailand.
