Starting September 1st, over 305,000 taxpayers under the General VAT regime in Spain will be required to use five specific forms exclusively through the Virtual Agency. This change stems from the implementation of a new data system, FEL, which will pre-fill these declarations. The Spanish Tax Agency (SAT) aims to streamline the VAT return process and improve compliance through this automated system. Taxpayers will no longer be able to submit these forms through other channels. This initiative marks a significant step towards fully digital tax administration in Spain. The agency expects this pre-filled system to reduce errors and simplify the filing experience for businesses. This move is part of broader efforts to modernize the Spanish tax system and enhance efficiency.
