Tanzania’s Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) is initiating scientific research following the discovery of numerous animal and potential human bones in Ngorongoro District’s Pinyinyi Ward. The find, located in Engaresero, has prompted calls for thorough investigation into the fossils’ age and origins. TAWA Senior Conservator John Sulle announced the research pursuit during a Lake Natron conservation workshop in Arusha. The authority aims to uncover insights into the region's ancient wildlife and potentially, early human history. This discovery underscores the paleontological significance of the Ngorongoro area. Further studies are expected to shed light on the region’s past ecosystems and inhabitants. The move highlights TAWA’s commitment to both wildlife conservation and scientific exploration.
