Tanzania has received $6.7 million (17.73bn/-) in grants from the Multilateral Cooperation for Development Financing (MCDF) to fund the preparation of crucial infrastructure projects. This support comes after Tanzania joined the MCDF as an observer in July 2025. Finance Minister, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar, announced the funding will specifically aid in preparing the Tanzania-Malawi 400kV Power transmission line project. The grants signify a strengthening partnership between Tanzania and the MCDF, fostering development initiatives within the country. These funds are intended to ensure these key projects are well-planned and ready for implementation. The support highlights MCDF’s commitment to infrastructure development in Tanzania and the broader region. This investment is expected to contribute significantly to Tanzania’s economic growth and regional connectivity.
