Tanzania has significantly enhanced its maritime security capabilities with the acquisition of two high-speed patrol boats. Launched today by Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba, the vessels – PB Sailfish 02 and PB Sailfish – are capable of traveling from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar in approximately 30 minutes. This acquisition strengthens Tanzania’s ability to monitor its extensive coastline and respond rapidly to potential threats. The new boats’ 50-knot speed will allow for more effective surveillance and interception operations. This investment signals a commitment to protecting Tanzania’s territorial waters and ensuring maritime safety.
