This is due to the road’s location outside Tallinn’s officially designated Old Town boundaries. Despite its potential historical value, the cobblestone street will not be preserved as a protected heritage site. The uncovered cobblestones offer a glimpse into Tallinn’s past but their future remains tied to the ongoing roadwork project. Officials state heritage status is reserved for areas within the Old Town’s defined perimeter. The road will likely be covered again as part of the roadworks completion.
