Taiwanese right-handed pitcher Ho Hua has signed a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, becoming the latest Taiwanese baseball player to join a Major League Baseball organization. The deal is reportedly worth over 25 million NTD (approximately $1.6 million USD), including a signing bonus. Ho Hua previously played for Pingzhen High School in Taiwan and showcased impressive pitching skills, attracting the attention of MLB scouts. This signing follows recent successes of other Taiwanese players in American baseball, including Lai Chien-Fan. Ho Hua’s addition to the Phillies organization marks a significant step in his career and further strengthens the growing presence of Taiwanese talent in the MLB. He is expected to begin his professional journey with the Phillies’ minor league system.
