Taiwanese prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into Xin Xing Electronics, alleging the company falsely labeled Chinese-made printed circuit boards (PCBs) as Taiwanese products. Fourteen individuals, including the company's PCB general manager, have been named as defendants. The general manager was released on bail of NT$15 million (approximately US$470,000). Prosecutors suspect Xin Xing Electronics engaged in this practice to secure contracts, potentially defrauding clients relying on the "Made in Taiwan" designation. The investigation began after a tip-off regarding discrepancies in the origin of the PCBs. Authorities are currently gathering additional evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the extent of the misconduct and identify any further complicity within the company. This case highlights concerns about supply chain integrity and compliance with labeling regulations in the electronics industry.
