Construction of the Sh16 billion Taifa Gas LPG terminal in Mombasa’s Dongo Kundu SEZ is well underway. Upon completion, the facility is projected to become the largest of its kind in East Africa. The project aims to alleviate a long-held market monopoly on LPG distribution in the region. This substantial energy investment promises to improve access to LPG for consumers and businesses. Developers anticipate lowered costs and increased competition within the LPG market. The terminal represents a significant step towards strengthening energy infrastructure in Kenya and the wider East African community. Its completion will contribute to greater energy security and economic growth.
