Prosecutors have dropped a preliminary investigation into alleged gross negligence of leadership at the English School in Karlstad, Sweden. The investigation stemmed from the case of a former employee convicted of serious child pornography offenses against 166 students. Authorities determined insufficient evidence exists to prove the school leadership knowingly committed a crime related to the offenses. While the decision was anticipated, a parent expressed significant disappointment to Swedish broadcaster SVT. The investigation focused on whether school officials failed in their duty of care, allowing the abuse to occur. No charges will be filed against any members of the school’s administration. This concludes the legal inquiry into the school’s role in the matter.
