British publisher Faber has announced it will stop distributing the works of Irish novelist Sally Rooney in the United Kingdom. This decision stems from Rooney’s public support for Palestine Action, an organization advocating for Palestine. The British government banned Palestine Action in July 2025, designating it a terrorist organization. This halt in distribution encompasses all publishing formats of Rooney’s books within the UK. However, the publisher confirmed Rooney's works will continue to be sold outside of the United Kingdom. Faber released a statement outlining the reasons for this decision on its website, citing the government’s classification of Palestine Action. The news was initially reported by Hespress, a Moroccan online newspaper.
