Denmark’s Livslinien, a national suicide prevention hotline, will expand its operating hours beginning July 1st. The helpline will now be available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM daily, a significant increase from its previous 11:00 AM to 5:00 AM schedule. This expansion is directly attributed to a rise in the number of trained volunteer counselors available to provide support. Director Jeppe Kristen Toft confirmed the increased capacity enables the extended service. The move aims to provide crucial support to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts during more vulnerable hours. Livslinien offers anonymous phone counseling and serves as a vital resource for those in crisis. The organization noted increased demand influenced the decision to broaden accessibility.
