The price of essential commodities is steadily increasing in Dhaka, Bangladesh, causing hardship for low- and middle-income residents. Recently, the price of sugar has increased significantly. Within just two weeks, the price per kilogram of sugar has risen by approximately 10 taka. This price hike was observed during a market survey conducted in various areas of Dhaka on Monday, September 7th. Previously, sugar was selling for 105 to 110 taka per kilogram, but prices have now increased. The escalating costs are adding to the financial strain on households across the capital. This trend indicates a broader issue of rising living expenses within the city.
