Two leaders of the Khepupara Upazila Chhatra Dal in Patuakhali have been expelled following allegations that they were involved in the abduction and torture of fellow student leader, Mehedi Hasan Faruk. Faruk claims he was picked up and subjected to abuse by individuals identifying themselves as Detective Branch (DB) officials in Mahipur, Patuakhali. The expelled leaders are Amirul Islam Fahim, Member Secretary of the Khepupara Upazila Chhatra Dal, and Masud Rana, its Joint Convener. The decision was announced on Wednesday, September 30th, through a press release signed by Jahangir Alam, Office Secretary of the central committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Students’ Association (Chhatra Dal). The expulsion underscores internal tensions within the student organization and raises concerns about potential abuses of power. Further investigation is expected to determine the veracity of the allegations and the extent of the involvement of those expelled.
