Severe thunderstorms have swept across Germany and Switzerland following a period of intense heat. In Rastatt, southwestern Germany, nine people were struck by lightning during a sporting event. Thirteen attendees of a music festival in northern Germany were also injured due to the storms. Simultaneously, in Switzerland, a falling tree branch critically injured a 16-year-old girl. Authorities are responding to the widespread damage and providing medical assistance to those affected. The sudden shift in weather conditions from extreme heat to violent storms has created hazardous conditions across both countries. Emergency services are urging caution as the storms continue.
