Severe thunderstorms and torrential rain impacted ten Romanian counties on Wednesday, prompting emergency interventions in twelve localities. Firefighters responded to reports of flooding, fallen trees, and traffic disruptions across the affected regions, according to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU). A particularly critical incident occurred in Vidra, Vrancea County, where three trees collapsed onto an electricity pole within the grounds of a local hospital. This resulted in a complete power outage at the medical facility. Authorities are working to restore electricity and address the ongoing consequences of the storms. The extent of other damages is still being assessed. No injuries have been reported at this time.
