The 28th annual “Folklore Without Borders” festival began in Ostrava, Czech Republic, featuring performances from around twenty groups, including ensembles from India, Serbia, Mexico, Slovakia, and Poland. The festival, running from Monday to Friday, was unfortunately interrupted on its first day by a sudden thunderstorm. The storm forced the cancellation of the final four scheduled performances. Organizers have assured attendees that these missed performances will be rescheduled at various locations throughout Ostrava during the week. Despite the disruption, the event continues to showcase a rich diversity of international folklore traditions. Approximately two dozen groups are participating in the festival overall.
