Reports of unidentified flying objects and shooting stars over Estonia have been attributed to the passage of Starlink satellite trains. The observations, initially causing speculation, were clarified by Tartu Postimees. These “trains” are groups of Starlink satellites launched by SpaceX, appearing as a string of lights moving across the sky. The phenomenon occurs as the satellites are deployed into their designated orbits. While visually striking, they are a result of modern satellite technology and pose no threat. This isn’t the first time Starlink satellites have been mistaken for UFOs globally, highlighting the increasing prevalence of satellite constellations in low Earth orbit.
