A new analysis has identified Germany’s speed camera hotspots and the cities generating the most revenue from traffic enforcement. Karlsruhe, Berlin, and Munich are among the locations with the highest number of speed traps. The study reveals a significant disparity in enforcement practices across different cities. These "blitzer-Hochburgen" – speed camera strongholds – are actively generating substantial income through fines. The findings raise questions about the motivation behind the placement and frequency of speed cameras, suggesting potential over-reliance on fines as a revenue source. This data provides insight into where drivers are most likely to encounter speed enforcement and incur penalties. The analysis aims to inform drivers and encourage transparency in traffic monitoring practices.
