Anti-Israel activists in Spain vandalized carriages intended for use on Tel Aviv’s Light Rail Purple Line. The protesters reportedly smashed windows with hammers and spray-painted the front of the carriages with red paint. The National Transport Authority (NTA) of Israel confirmed the incident and stated that the Spanish manufacturer, CAF, is currently repairing the damage. Despite the vandalism, the NTA asserts that the incident will not delay the project’s progress. The carriages were being prepared in Spain before shipment to Israel. The incident highlights ongoing tensions and protests related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict extending to international locations and infrastructure projects.
