South Korea’s fire department issued a national mobilization order on July 17th due to torrential rainfall in Geoje and Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province. The intense downpour has caused widespread flooding and landslides, prompting urgent rescue efforts. As of reporting, 136 individuals have been rescued from the affected areas. Tragically, one death has been confirmed as a result of the extreme weather conditions. Authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage and continuing search and rescue operations.
