A 41-year-old South African fitness coach, Leroy Saunders, tragically died after collapsing during the HYROX Bangkok 2026 competition on August 13th. Saunders, who also coached CrossFit in Thailand, lost consciousness while actively competing at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. Immediate medical attention was provided by event staff, including CPR, before he was transported to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, he could not be revived.
