Following the passing of legendary player and administrator Abdus Sadek, his eldest son, Ishtiaque Sadek, has been appointed as the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation. This appointment was officially announced through a notification signed by Md. Daulatuzzaman Khan, Executive Director of the National Sports Council. Abdus Sadek himself was a prominent figure in both football and hockey, excelling as a player in both sports before transitioning into a successful career in sports administration. The new committee also includes representation from the football community, signaling a potential for cross-sport collaboration. Ishtiaque Sadek now carries the responsibility of continuing his father’s work in promoting and developing hockey in Bangladesh. This transition marks a new chapter for the federation, building upon a strong foundation laid by its previous leader. The appointment aims to ensure continuity and further advancement of the sport within the nation.
