Over 300 experts, led by the Slovak Academy of Sciences, have presented a strategic vision for Slovakia through 2040 to the government. The report warns that Slovakia’s current economic model, reliant on being an assembly hub, is unsustainable. Key reforms are urgently needed in education, science, and healthcare to avoid national decline. Prime Minister Robert Fico has called on all political parties, both coalition and opposition, to endorse the proposed vision. The document was crafted by approximately 350 leading experts from academic, private and public sectors. It aims to chart a course for sustained growth and prosperity for the country in the coming decades. The experts emphasize a shift away from low-cost manufacturing towards innovation and higher value-added industries.
