Two Slovak high school students, Artur Drobčo and Jakub Ferianc, completed a significant portion of the National Uprising Trail (Cesta SNP) during their summer break. Their motivation stemmed from a desire to support a sick friend, Adamko. Initially, they joked about “killing the summer” with the hike, but the experience revealed a deeper connection with the people they encountered. The pair, both working at a climbing center, undertook the trek as a charitable initiative. They were struck by the incredible generosity and kindness of strangers along the route. The journey highlighted the supportive spirit within the Slovak community and the positive impact of youth-led initiatives. They shared their experience and positive discoveries via social media.
