Slovakia’s national lottery company, Tipos, has significantly reduced its advertising expenditure with public broadcaster RTVS this year. This reduction in spending has resulted in lower-than-expected advertising revenue for RTVS, according to its director, Martina Flašíková, who raised the issue during a recent RTVS Council meeting. Flašíková stated that anticipated income from state advertising simply did not materialize. Council member Martin Daňko confirmed that Tipos had indeed limited its advertising commitments. The shortfall poses a challenge to RTVS’s financial planning and may necessitate discussions with the government to address the issue. The situation highlights the public broadcaster's reliance on state-owned enterprise advertising revenue. Flašíková intends to discuss the matter with the government to find a resolution.
