A Slovak man, Tomáš Kovanda, 40, has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison by a Prague court for attempted murder of his girlfriend. The attack occurred after the woman suggested he contribute to household expenses, specifically rent. Kovanda stabbed the woman in the back during the altercation. He fully confessed to the crime and accepted responsibility for his actions. The court accepted his confession as a complete admission of guilt.
