A Slovak family is breathing new life into the tradition of glassmaking in the village of Kokava nad Rimavicou. In 2019, Silvia Hroncová discovered a decaying former forestry school for sale and felt a connection to the location. Along with her husband, Ivan Hronc, founders of the successful media and distribution company Film Europe and the Edison art cinemas, they began a restoration project. The project aims to revive a forgotten aspect of the region's history: its glassmaking heritage. The purchase wasn’t part of a long-term plan, but feels like a natural progression. The couple’s efforts are transforming the ruins into a testament to Slovak craftsmanship and cultural preservation.
