The United States has approved a $73 million sale to Singapore to upgrade its M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS). The deal includes 18 Common Fire Control System upgrade kits. According to the US State Department, this sale will enhance Singapore’s existing capabilities and will not significantly shift the regional military balance. The upgrade aims to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of Singapore’s artillery systems. This foreign military sale was approved and notified to Congress. The US government believes Singapore will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment and support.
