The Sindh government announced Sunday it will request the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court to establish a judicial commission to review the investigation into the death of Mir Raza Ali. This decision follows a plea from Ali’s parents, who allege the investigation is biased and wrongly framing his death as a suicide. They requested direct supervision from Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, expressing concerns about a “false narrative” being perpetuated. While the government states it received the concerns with seriousness, the family’s counsel has already announced they will challenge the decision in the Sindh High Court on Monday. The proposed commission will assess the investigation’s impartiality, adherence to the law, and identify any overlooked evidence. It will also investigate potential negligence or misconduct by officials involved in the case, with the power to recommend further action.
