Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia, resulting in civilian casualties. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of Saudi Arabia, referencing the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. This pact, signed on August 7th, establishes a collective defense framework where an attack on one signatory state is considered an attack on all. Prime Minister Shehbaz commended the Saudi armed forces and the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen for intercepting ballistic missiles. He expressed Pakistan’s full support for Saudi Arabia’s right to self-defense and called for an immediate cessation of attacks by the Houthis. Pakistan stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia against these threats, promising continued support. The commitment stems from recent decisions made by the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement's Strategic Political and Defence Committee.
