Romania’s National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued weather alerts for Sunday, August 23rd. Four counties—Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, and Prahova—are under a yellow code warning for intense storms, including torrential rain, hail, and strong winds. Simultaneously, a separate yellow code for a heatwave remains in effect for the regions of Oltenia, Muntenia, and Dobrogea. These areas are expected to experience temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius with tropical nights. The storm warning is valid until nightfall, while the heatwave alert continues alongside it. Residents in affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions against both extreme weather events. The ANM urges caution due to the potential for localized flooding and storm damage.
