Seven men have been arrested in Rotterdam following an assault on Algerian football supporters ahead of a World Cup warm-up match between the Netherlands and Algeria. The attack occurred near De Kuip stadium on June 3rd, leaving one fan seriously injured and briefly unconscious. Police discovered the Algerian fans, all French nationals, in a van after the incident, and reviewed camera footage confirming the assault involving kicking and punching. The suspects, aged 19 to 40 and from various cities in the Netherlands, now face a national stadium ban imposed by the KNVB (Dutch Football Association). At least three of the arrested individuals will be brought before a judge. Authorities are not ruling out further arrests as the investigation continues, focusing on football-related violence.
