Czech road transport inspectors uncovered two violations during overnight patrols in Moravia and Silesia. A team from the Road Transport Inspectorate (INSID) pursued an overloaded truck for nearly four hours. Separately, inspectors discovered a Serbian truck driver actively driving during a mandatory rest period. Crucially, the driver’s tachograph – a device recording driving time – falsely indicated the vehicle was stationary. The INSID released video evidence confirming the driver was operating the vehicle while the tachograph registered a stop. This constitutes a serious breach of regulations designed to prevent driver fatigue and ensure road safety. Authorities are investigating the incident and potential penalties for the driver.
