Young entrepreneurs from Seoul are partnering with farmers in Chilgok County, North Gyeongsang Province, to create innovative products and boost the local economy. Utilizing locally sourced ingredients like melons, strawberries, and honey, these startups are developing unique items. Current products include collagen jelly sticks made from Chilgok melons and strawberries, as well as makgeolli (Korean rice wine) brewed with local honey. This initiative aims to add value to agricultural produce and attract a younger consumer base. The collaboration addresses both the challenges faced by rural farming communities and the difficulties young people encounter when starting businesses. This project demonstrates a successful model for regional revitalization through entrepreneurial spirit and agricultural product diversification. Further product development is ongoing, promising continued innovation.
