Senegalese wrestling federation (FSL) has suspended wrestler Prince for one year, with six months of the suspension being firm, following a violent outburst after his June 14th match against Lac de Guiers 2. The disciplinary action stems from Prince physically attacking his opponent after losing the bout at the national arena. Lac de Guiers 2 sustained injuries and required several minutes to recover on the ground, sparking outrage among spectators and within the wrestling community. The FSL’s Commission of Regulations and Discipline determined the suspension would be effective immediately upon notification. This incident has reignited discussions regarding discipline and adherence to regulations within the popular, yet sometimes volatile, sport of Senegalese wrestling. The sanction aims to address unacceptable conduct following competition results.
