Despite a prosecutor's appeal, individuals previously detained in the Pape Cheikh Diallo case have been released from prison. A judge had issued a partial non-lieu order, dismissing charges for twenty individuals while sending sixty others to trial. The public prosecutor appealed this decision, hoping to keep those initially cleared in detention, but the appeal did not prevent their release. Twelve of the released individuals were transferred from Rebeuss prison on Friday, along with one from Sébikotane. Other individuals who had been granted provisional release prior to the order remained free. The released individuals await a decision from the chamber of indictment regarding the prosecutor’s request.
