A Senegalese investigation into alleged “unnatural acts” is progressing, with several individuals recently questioned by a judge. The NGO Jamra reports that prominent journalists – Kadiour Cissé of 7TV, Pape Gaye Tall of Kéwoulo TV, and Souleymane Fatou Ndao of Malikia TV – have been interviewed as part of the judicial inquiry. Over one hundred suspects have reportedly been detained in connection with the case, which began following an investigation led by the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court prosecutor’s office. Authorities anticipate further arrests by the Keur Massar gendarmerie before the case is closed. Jamra, the NGO, has praised the investigation as a matter of “public health” while urging due process. All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
