Senegal’s national aviation and meteorology agency (Anacim) has issued a warning for thunderstorms and varying rainfall intensities overnight from Tuesday, July 28th to Wednesday, July 29th, 2026. The regions of Matam, Tambacounda, Kédougou, Kaffrine, Kaolack, Fatick, Diourbel, Thiès, Linguère, and Mbour are expected to be most affected. Anacim notes the storms may intensify and spread to nearby areas throughout the night. Residents in these locations are advised to exercise caution due to potential reduced visibility, which could disrupt road traffic and nighttime travel. Winds will generally blow from the west-southwest. Authorities urge continued vigilance and monitoring of Anacim updates as conditions can change rapidly during this rainy season, characterized by irregular precipitation.
