The S.O.S. România party, led by Diana Iovanovici Șoșoacă, announced Monday evening that its parliamentarians will not support the investiture of a government led by designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu. This marks the second party leader to firmly declare opposition to Niculescu’s proposed government. Șoșoacă stated the decision reflects the party’s assessment of Romania’s current needs. The designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu was appointed by Nicușor Dan. This development further complicates the formation of a stable governing coalition in Romania. The party believes Romania requires a different path forward and will not contribute to a government they do not believe will deliver.
