A scientific study reveals that portions of the coast of Sla are more vulnerable to the dangers of rising sea levels, erosion, and inundation, particularly in the southern area of the coastline. Natural components present on the beach play a role in mitigating these risks and protecting some coastal sections. Published in the journal “Natural Hazards Research,” the research covered approximately 25 kilometers of the coast of Sla. The study indicates varying levels of susceptibility along the coastline, with certain areas facing a higher threat. These findings underscore the need for comprehensive coastal management strategies in Sla to address the escalating challenges posed by climate change. The research provides valuable data for policymakers and stakeholders involved in coastal protection efforts in Morocco. Further investigation is needed to fully understand the long-term impacts and implement effective adaptation measures.
