Scandal-hit Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB) is moving to recover debts by valuing a series of prime real estate assets connected to businesswoman Truong My Lan. This action aims to recoup losses stemming from the ongoing financial irregularities involving Lan. Simultaneously, Ho Chi Minh City is bolstering efforts to promote administrative reforms, signaling a focus on improved governance. In addition, a proposal has been made to provide limited financial support – 150% of the base salary – to a very small number of ethnic minority students each month. These developments highlight both financial restructuring within the banking sector and ongoing attempts to address social needs within the city and beyond. The asset valuation by SCB marks a significant step in addressing the fallout from the substantial financial case. These measures reflect the Vietnamese government's efforts to tackle economic challenges and support vulnerable populations.
