Norwegian unions Fellesforbundet and Parat have reached a new agreement with the Norwegian Employers’ Organisation for Aviation (NHO Luftfart), averting a planned strike by SAS cabin crew. Negotiations continued past the midnight deadline, resulting in a deal that both sides describe as balanced. The agreement includes provisions for increased purchasing power for members, advance payment of parental and sick leave benefits, and a new safety model aimed at improving working conditions in the aviation industry. Fellesforbundet’s negotiating leader, Dag-Einar Sivertsen, stated the result was hard-won but beneficial. Parat will now put the agreement to a vote by its members for final approval, with union leaders emphasizing that the final decision rests with the workforce. The agreement prevents potential disruption to SAS flights.
