Heavy rainfall and subsequent flash floods temporarily severed road communication to Sajek Valley via the Baghaihat road. Low-lying areas of the road were inundated, trapping hundreds of tourist vehicles for approximately two hours. Sixteen watergates of the Kaptai Lake were opened on Saturday, contributing to the flooding in the Baghaihat area. Fortunately, water levels receded later in the afternoon, and traffic resumed with assistance from the army and local residents. The disruption left many tourists stranded, highlighting the vulnerability of the route during the monsoon season. Authorities are monitoring the situation to prevent further issues as the rainy season continues.
