A man claiming to be a veteran of the war in Ukraine has threatened an armed uprising against the Kremlin if he is not granted a meeting with President Putin. Identifying himself as Alexander Lunin, the man posted videos online alleging systemic abuse and mistreatment within the Russian army and demanding to share “the truth” with Putin. He claims soldiers are prepared to turn their weapons against the Kremlin if his demands are not met, stating he is relaying a message from within the defense and security apparatus. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov acknowledged awareness of the videos but stated Putin and his administration had not yet viewed them, describing the content as “rather strange.” Reports indicate Lunin is a 39-year-old veteran from the Voronezh region of southern Russia. The Kremlin has yet to officially respond to the allegations of abuse or the threat of an uprising.
