Romania’s Ministry of National Defence reported a new wave of Russian drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine overnight between June 20th and 21st. These attacks occurred near the Ukrainian border, specifically in the Tulcea county area, which shares a river border with Romania. As a precautionary measure, a RO-Alert message was issued to Romanian citizens. The Romanian Air Force subsequently mobilized two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to reinforce air surveillance. The Ministry stated the actions were taken due to the proximity of the attacks to Romanian territory. No direct threats to Romanian national territory were reported. The situation remains under constant monitoring by Romanian military authorities.
