Polish authorities are investigating the murder of Semyon Sкрепецкий, a Russian artist known for his critical depictions of Vladimir Putin and other political figures. The 44-year-old, who used the pseudonym Robert K, was shot five times in the head, chest, and back in the Polish town of Biala Podlaska, near the Belarusian border, on Monday morning. Police have arrested two Belarusian citizens, aged 33 and 37, as suspects. Sкрепецкий had fled Russia in 2021 after facing legal repercussions and was granted residency in Poland, where he lived with his wife and five children. He frequently satirized Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, and the late Alexei Navalny in his artwork, shared on Telegram and YouTube. The artist had openly participated in a protest against Russia in Berlin the night before his death. Investigators recovered five shell casings at the scene.
