Russia has issued over 1,000 visas in 2025 based on its new “Traditional Values” program, designed to attract individuals aligned with the country’s conservative ideology. According to Alexei Klimov, Director of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the visas aim to foster connections with those who share Russia’s cultural and moral principles. Germany accounted for the largest number of recipients, with 168 visas granted to German citizens. The program’s launch reflects Russia’s efforts to strengthen ties with international communities that embrace similar values. Details regarding the specific criteria for obtaining the visa remain limited, but it is presented as a means of promoting cultural exchange and understanding. The initiative has drawn attention as part of Russia’s broader foreign policy strategy. Klimov revealed these figures during an interview with Sputnik.
