Russian authorities have placed German journalist Michael Martens on an international wanted list following a question he posed to Ukrainian President Zelensky. Russia accuses Martens of inciting hatred, issuing an arrest warrant earlier this month. Martens responded to the warrant with criticism of Russia's actions in Ukraine and accused them of suppressing legitimate questions. His employer, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), while acknowledging the question was poorly phrased, condemned the case as intimidation against the foreign press and an attack on press freedom. The FAZ is standing by Martens amid the escalating tensions.
